Data recovery faqs

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions about data recovery services in the UK and internationally. If you have further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How long does your FREE data recovery assessment take?

Our free data recovery assessment typically takes less than 24 hours, depending on our current workload.

What if I need my data urgently?

We offer an emergency data recovery service. An inspection fee may apply. Your case will be placed at the top of the queue and treated as a priority job. Depending on the size and complexity of the case, this usually takes 1 to 2 working days.

This applies to HDD, SSD, SD card, and USB recovery.

How should I pack my hard drive?

To prevent further damage and maximise the success of your recovery, please follow our parcel shipping instructions.

This is especially important for mechanically damaged hard drives and SSDs.

How do I ship my parcel to you?

The best option is to drop off your device in person – you can check our address and opening hours here. When visiting, you’ll also have the opportunity to speak directly with one of our data recovery engineers.

We also offer a free next-working-day collection service in the UK.

For customers in Europe and the Middle East, we recommend DHL or UPS. Please make sure the device is packed according to our shipping guidelines.

How do you classify data recovery cases?

We typically classify data loss solutions as:

  • Logical failures – when the data partition is corrupted, deleted, or inaccessible.

  • Physical failures – when the drive makes noises such as beeping, buzzing, or clicking (often caused by drops, shocks, or head crashes). Do not power on your device in this case.

  • Electronic failures – when the drive’s electronics are damaged.

These apply to hard drives, SSDs, RAID/NAS systems, and USB devices.

Are your data recovery costs fixed?

Yes. You can call or email us, and we will provide you with a fixed quotation for your recovery.

The price will not change, regardless of the time or resources required – whether it’s for hard drive recovery, SSD recovery, RAID recovery, or USB recovery.

Are there any catches with your “No Data, No Fee” policy?

None whatsoever. If we cannot recover your data, you won’t pay for the recovery attempt.

  • A small fee applies if you want your device returned.

  • If you don’t need the device back, we will securely destroy it free of charge.

Why do hard drives fail?

Like all electronic devices, hard drives and SSDs have a limited Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). Over time, all storage devices eventually fail.

Common causes include:

  • Physical failures (mechanical or electronic issues)

  • Human error (accidental damage, deletion, formatting, malware, etc.)

If you need professional hard drive recovery UK services, we can help.

How will I know what you have recovered?

Before you make a payment, we will send you an HTML report so you can review the list of recovered files and directories.

This ensures you know exactly what has been recovered from your hard drive, SSD, USB, or RAID system.

Are you based in London?

Yes. All data recovery processes are carried out in our London-based data recovery lab, serving clients across the UK and internationally.

How do you deliver recovered data internationally?

We can either:

  • Upload the recovered data to our secure FTP server, or

  • Ship it to you via DHL.

For larger recoveries, you will need to provide another HDD or SSD for the transfer.

This service is available for international hard drive recovery and SSD recovery clients.

Is my data confidential and safe with you?

Yes. We are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement under our Terms and Conditions of Service. If required, we can also sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Our secure data recovery services are trusted by businesses, law firms, government bodies, and private individuals.

How do you keep recovered data secure?

All recovered data is stored on an encrypted Secure Storage Area Network (SSAN).

After 14 days, the data is securely wiped to ensure it is completely irrecoverable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Bank transfer (preferred)

  • Visa / Mastercard

We do not accept cheques or American Express.
